Testing Food Sensitivities and Food Allergies: IgE Allergy Explorer & IgG Food Explorer Combo

🧠 Are You Experiencing:

  • Chronic fatigue or brain fog?
  • Bloating, gas, or digestive discomfort?
  • Skin issues like eczema or acne?
  • Unexplained weight fluctuations?
  • Persistent headaches or migraines?
  • Mood swings, anxiety, or depression?

These symptoms could be linked to undiagnosed food allergies or sensitivities.

🔬 Why Test Both IgE and IgG?

  • IgE (Immunoglobulin E): Detects immediate allergic reactions to over 150 foods and environmental allergens, including pollen, pet dander, and insect venom.
  • IgG (Immunoglobulin G): Identifies delayed food sensitivities to over 250 food antigens, which can cause symptoms hours or days after consumption.

Combining both tests provides a comprehensive view of your immune responses, enabling personalized dietary and lifestyle interventions.

🧪 Foods & Environmental Antigens Tested:

Dairy, eggs, meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, nuts, seeds, legumes, grains (including gluten-containing and gluten-free options), fruits, vegetables, herbs, spices, and beverages like coffee and tea.

By analyzing immune reactions to over 400 individual food and environmental antigens, this comprehensive panel helps identify both immediate and delayed immune responses.

This insight allows for highly personalized nutrition planning — helping to reduce chronic inflammation, improve digestive health, boost energy, support mental clarity, and prevent long-term health issues linked to unrecognized food sensitivities and allergies.

🧪 How Testing Works

All testing at Mindful Medical Care includes a 1-hour telemedicine or in-person (your choice) consultation with Dr. Maria Azizian.

Testing without expert interpretation and a personalized plan is incomplete.
Dr. Azizian will review your results, explain their meaning, and create a customized plan — including supplements, dietary adjustments, and lifestyle changes — tailored to your needs.

How It Works:

  • After you purchase the test, the kit is drop-shipped to your home.
  • Sample collection involves a simple fingerstick blood spot, placed on the collection card and mailed back using the prepaid envelope provided. No blood draw is required.
  • Once your results are in, our office will schedule your 1-hour consultation with Dr. Azizian to review your findings and design your personalized treatment plan based on your results.

   – Immune Response: Food allergies involve an immune system through IgE antibodies.  .

   – Symptoms: Allergic reactions can range from mild to severe and may include hives, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing, and in severe cases, anaphylaxis, which is a life-threatening reaction.

   – Onset: Onset is fast. Allergic reactions typically occur shortly after consuming the allergenic food.

   – Digestive Discomfort: Food sensitivities are due to function and release of mostly  IgG  antibodies

   – Symptoms: Symptoms of food sensitivities are vast, ranging fro gastrointestinal to rashes to headaches.

   – Onset:  Onset may take from several hours to several days, and correlation with the offending food is hard to establish.

Allergies often require strict avoidance of the allergenic food and may involve carying an epinephrine auto-injector in case of severe reactions. In contrast, sensitivities may be managed by reducing or eliminating the problem food from the diet and may not necessitate the same level of caution as allergies.

Symptom Relief: Identifying specific foods that trigger adverse reactions allows individuals to eliminate or reduce those foods from their diet. This can lead to rapid relief from symptoms such as digestive discomfort, bloating, headaches, skin problems, and fatigue.

Improved Digestive Health: For individuals with gastrointestinal symptoms like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), identifying and avoiding trigger foods can lead to better digestive health, reduced inflammation, and less frequent flare-ups.

Enhanced Nutrient Absorption: Food sensitivities can sometimes interfere with the body’s ability to absorb essential nutrients. Avoiding trigger foods can improve nutrient absorption and overall nutritional status.

Weight Management: Understanding food sensitivities can be beneficial for weight management. Some individuals experience weight gain or difficulty losing weight due to inflammation triggered by specific foods. Eliminating these triggers can support weight loss efforts.

Improved Energy Levels: Food sensitivities can contribute to fatigue and low energy levels. By eliminating problem foods, individuals often experience increased energy and vitality.

Better Skin Health: Skin conditions like eczema, acne, or hives can be linked to food sensitivities. Identifying and avoiding trigger foods can lead to clearer, healthier skin.

Enhanced Immune Function: Reducing the intake of foods that trigger sensitivities can help modulate the immune system and reduce unnecessary immune responses, potentially improving overall immune function.

Mental Health Benefits: Emerging research suggests that there may be a connection between food sensitivities and mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. Managing food sensitivities may have a positive impact on mood and emotional well-being.

Reduced Inflammation: Food sensitivities can contribute to chronic inflammation in the body, which is associated with various diseases. Avoiding trigger foods can help reduce inflammation and lower the risk of inflammatory conditions.

Personalized Nutrition: Knowing one’s food sensitivities allows for personalized dietary choices. Individuals can tailor their diet to include foods that are well-tolerated, leading to better overall nutrition and health.

It’s important to note that the process of identifying food sensitivities should be guided by healthcare professionals or registered dietitians, as self-diagnosis can be inaccurate and may lead to nutritional deficiencies or unnecessary dietary restrictions. Proper testing and guidance can help individuals make informed choices that optimize their health and well-being while maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.
